FWIW I just bought a couple of cheap alnico lipstic tube pickups on Amazon. I can point you to them if you like. I took one of them apart...and they seem to be genuine alnico not ceramic as you often find in cheap pups. Checked resistance and inductance specs and they seem to be in the ballpark ;-) Would look cool on a Tele with a mirror pickguard ;-)

This is the set im putting in, they look really cool, i bought them about 3 years ago but cheers for the suggestion, much appreciated.
