You would think that it was a Middle Eastern instrument of some kind given the vocal...but I think it may be a Puerto Rican Cuatro

There is a very similar instrument called a Puerto Rican tiple... which generally has 5 strings. The one in the vid has ten strings in five courses which makes it more similar to the PR cuatro. Most "cuatros" from other places have four strings or four courses, but for some reason there is an extra course on the PR version.
