Help Needed - SMS7 Kit Wiring

Hi All, I'm having issues getting the wiring right for the SMS7 kit.

I'm confused with 2 elements. The first is that the wiring diagram i'm using for 2 pickups, 2 pots and a 3 way switch has a different setup to what was sent in the kit. The second is that the pickups have 5 wires! 2 groups of 2 soldered together and a single wire.

For the first one, do i just solder the dotted line to make an 'in series' circuit to the tone pot or should i remove the wire and attach as per the blue line on the diagram?

For the second one, i'm not sure which is the hot wire, ground wire etc? Thoughts.

Question 1, I'd remove the "purple dotted wire" and just follow the standard wiring diagram (switch middle to tone pot as shown).

EDIT: After looking a second time, you can leave the the purple wire and NOT add the blue from switch to tone. Same same really.

Question 2, Green & bare = Ground, Black = Positive (hot), Red & White are coil ends - keep soldered together but insulate with heat shrink tubing (or electrical tape).

This diagram is conceptually the same as your purple wire one without the blue wire. Clear as mud, right?

It also coincidentally has the same wire colour codes. But be aware not all HB manufacturers are the same.
Also worth noting the Seymour Duncan diagram shows a vintage style toggle switch, not a import (or kit) "box" type, but both have 3 solder lugs (N/NB/B).

This is perfect, thank you!!! Heading out to fix now :-)

Worked perfectly! Thank McCreed. Diagram was exactly what i needed...Now for filing the nut and setting the intonation and it will be ready to go...love the kit and super easy to play with the fanned frets (although can be tricky to get used to as it just looks different when looking down to see where you are on the fretboard...especially for people like me to play by ear and sight rather than understanding music scales and notations etc).

    Glad it worked out.
You're more adventurous than I. Just looking at fanned frets freaks me out!
I have no inclination to go further than a strat or tele, or the occasional LP! I'm the old dog that can't (or won't) learn new tricks

I like to try different things but it does mean sometimes ending up with a result you may not be happy with. Here is my 7 string...just need to file the nut down and set the action and intonation.

I tried a different finish this time and whilst it still looks ok, its not what i was after...but thats what happens when you are constantly trying new things so its a real double edged sword.

One thing i can say, i love playing the 7 string and love the fanned frets. Its a little strange to begin with but its really easy to play on and i actually find it easier to span different frets based on the style i play so really happy with it. I wouldn't mind a 6 string version to be honest....but still have a couple of others in the works so it will have to wait :-)
