Hey qpranger, sorry for the slow reply. I haven't had time to do anything with this project for recently. Managed get through the mock build, shape the headstock and replace the plastic nut with bone nut (damaging the end of the fretboard in the process but I think this is only cosmetic).

After reading your comment I'm considering doing the same even though not painting it, I'd prefer round edges and would quite like it if it was a bit uneven to make it a bit different. Simon, Gavin or anyone else think I'm asking for trouble in doing that?
