I did wonder about the wax - thought it might attract dust and dirt and stuff.

Thanks Simon. I'll see what it looks like when I've done three more coats, which is what I plan to do.

I applied the first four or five coats using a fine grit paper, but I'm just wiping it on as normal now.

I'll go for the sanding option - mainly because I've got a reasonable amount of paper up to around 2500.
