Have you tested for compatibility yet? It should be fine, but you never know until you test. Maybe a quick dab on the paint on your spraying handle?
Hi Simon
I did test on a spot which will be under the backplate a week ago, to give any problems plenty of time to show up. No problems experienced
Good news!
Here’s hoping it goes on easily and looks great.
3 coats of the polyurethane on. A couple of runs on the first 2 coats but I think, I have the spray gun working properly now.
This is the result so far.
Seems sparkly!
The final clearcoat will go on tomorrow, then I have to wait 2 or so weeks to level sand and polish.
So late May, early June I will finally be putting this thing together.
Happy with that
Did the last coat go on OK? Just waiting for it to harden now?
I have waited 3 weeks for the clear coat to cure. The instructions said 1-2 days per coat and I ended up doing 5 coats but I waited nearly 3 weeks to do the level sand and polish. This is what it looked like before I started
This is after level sand and starting to polish sand.
The grits I used were 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000 and 3000.
Then I used color tone medium, fine and swirl remover.
This is the finished body.
Pretty shiny.
This afternoon, I will be using copper tape on the cavities and starting the wiring.
Good progress today.
Still with the upside down photos......I really can’t seem to change that. Sorry
That looks like a satisfying shine. Good polishing job. Hi
