Super happy to get this shape as a lefty. The idea is to be patient with this build while I learn on the TL-1L with the end goal being a classic black explorer with white pickguard look (anyone know a place that sells lefty ex pickguards?). Will probably try to get that with a Tru-Oil finish.
The kit seems great, the only issue I've come across so far is undersized pickup routes.
I've made a few lefties for my mates so I know how hard it is sometimes to get parts. Easy solution for the scratch plate is to buy a blank piece of white scratch guard plastic and cut your own to whatever shape you need. I just did one for a LP junior, coping saw, file and sandpaper and yer done.
Its not unusual for some cavities to be a bit under size, but some careful chiselling should do the job. Just take your time and enjoy the journey.
Thanks a lot Rob! I will check out your LP Junior build. Might try file down the seats/saddles (?) of the humbuckers before I bust out the chisel, I have basically zero woodwork experience.
