Did you use biscuits or dowels when gluing together? I ask because I have been offered some 200 year old house timbers (no idea what species of wood but probably oak) and I will need to put 3 pieces together when I do my first scratch body
If you get your joints true and square, get a good glue coat and clamp up well it should hold without dowelling or biscuits.
Some wood species might require specialist glues but you should be good with titebond on Oak.
