Thanks Oli, have to say though I've lost count now how many times I've done this.

Couldn't believe those screws. No pressure on it at all and just suddenly gave way.
Glad in a way it was the first one that I was putting in.

    cheers, Mark.

More broken screws, I am definitely going on to Real Parts to order a full set of screws for my tele! I need some replacement fine tuning screws for the Floyd anyway.
Mantra: No more pedals, must finish BlueyCaster...
Disclaimer: I haven't done woodwork since high school, and wasn't really paying attention at the time ...

Wow, yeah that really sucks. I mean the hardware can be a bit iffy but it seems like those are a particularly bad batch of screws.

Lapsed into forgetting to photograph the evidence.

    Nice pickguard Mark.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the pickguard material from and what do you cut it with?

Colin, I get a blank sheet from here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Musiclil...72.m2749.l2649

I can usually get 2 pickguards off this sheet.
One for this guitar and another for the Bronco bass.

I mark it out from a used pickguard with texta, then cut it out with a jig-saw.

I use the Ozito rotary tool to get the round edges and sandpaper stuck to a flat ruler for the straight ones.

    cheers, Mark.

edit: I haven't done the bevelled edge yet but use a medium file to do that .
Aim is to get all 3 ply's the same thickness all round.
