Longest side no more than 1500 pixels and just slightly less than 1meg in size. Or host elsewhere and link directly to the picture (not the page it's on).

The Tapatalk forum app does it for you, or the Windows Photo app lets you resize photos. Right click on the photo and select 'resize' (I then chose the 'custom' option to shrink the longest dimension to 1500 pixels).
