Glue on Neck - Enough Contact?

I had to shave some off the first step under the fretboard to remove gap between end of the neck and the pickup ring.

A 'long tenon', designed to give more contact area and neck strength.

Yep that’s how it came and makes sense as Simon has pointed out with the easy access to high frets.
