I'm a french bass player and I've juste received a IB-5 kit.
I used to play a PB and a Warwick Corvette $$ and I wanted to try something different...
So the mock build was ok, everything is alright to start building my new toy. Let's go !!!

Salut Jean-Phi ! J'ai une petite question pour toi : as-tu toi aussi eu la mauvaise surprise de devoir payer des droits de douane en recevant ton colis ? Personnellement, je ne m'y attendais pas trop (ils n'en parlent à aucun endroit sur le forum je crois) et c'était la mauvaise surprise : 63€ de taxes d'importation, soit 1/3 du prix de la guitare et des frais de port ! J'aimerais savoir si c'est moi qui n'ai pas eu de chance, ou si c'est systématique.

Yes. It's normal. In the UK it's normally 3% duty, then 20% VAT on the kit + duty + shipping charge. And then our Post Office add on their handling fee (another €10).
You aren't paying any Australian Sales Tax, so the Aussies pay 10% more than the price you see.

I was surprised that this wasn't mentioned anywhere on the site, although I understand that it can vary dramatically depending on where you live. It adds up to the overall price of the kit and came as a bit of a surprise...
It can do. Whilst not mentioned on the PBG home page or each guitar kit page, it is mentioned on the PBG terms and conditions page under 'Important Terms for International Customers'.
