The overall depth will improve a lot with clear coats as well. But as Waz said, I'd probably give it another stain pass if you want it darker.

Gave it a couple more coats today & the depth improved heaps. (even though it doesn't show in the photo)

4 or 5 coats of base stain brings out the best in DT in terms of depth of colour but if happy with 2 or 3 coats no point going any further.
A few coats of Intensifier brings on an amazing appearance, hard to describe but you will know what I mean when you see a couple of coats done.

It's had 5-6 coats in 2 sessions. Hope your right about the intensifier.
Will give it a go over the weekend.
After one ir two intensifier coats you should see a remarkable difference.
