Well spent a couple of hours polishing the body tonight, when I should have been practicing scales...!
Coming up ok, lots of shine. Still fighting those very fine scratches, but will get there I think.
Very mirror like finish so not so bad!

Very, very nice shine happening there.

What are you using for polish? For the fine scratches I tend to find Nu Finish does wonders.

Yes Waz, I like that stuff too. I have a variety of things in my bike cleaning cupboard, but not that at the moment. Must get some more.

Well my patience for polishing the body is done, and I think it's the best finish of any of my projects. I actually prefer the striped finish after all, it is a bit more interesting to look at than the straight cherry I think.
Just started fitting some hardware to the body, but still need a final clearcoat on the front of the headstock.
The tone controls are already in as they don't operate, just like Angus' SG!

Would you share the background behind the tone control, Andyxlh. Some of us are ignorant. It’s looking very nice indeed.

    Thank you!
From the Gibson website for the Angus Young SG model:
    http://www.gibson.com/Products/Elect...-Standard.aspx
    Volume & Tone Controls
The Angus Young SG uses an individual volume control for each pickup, which utilize high-quality CTS potentiometers. Tone controls are bypassed as is the case with Angus' original.

Thanks for the history lesson, and I agree with your stain being more interesting than a solid colour.

This is looking great. Was certainly worth persevering with the cherry.
