Thread: JM 1 Custom Kit

This particular neck I was going to put on a sanding sealer and then lacquer.

    Something like this for masking?

I have never used a sanding sealer before if anyone has any tips. I just heard it is great for getting the surface super smooth.
Spray a couple of coats of it then the lacquer straight on top after it cures? Then sanding between coats?

    Back to blue

Setting it aside for a week to cure before sanding and lacquering. Hope that will be enough time this time

That is a thing of beauty. I might not achieve that quality but I hope it looks half as good

Waiting for the body to cure.

Pablo didn’t get back to me so I’ve hacked out a custom scratchplate. Happy enough

Someone doesn’t want me to build this guitar. This is the 2nd time it has been primed and coloured, can’t seem to get the finish done. 1 year later and I’m just about to give up. As soon as I sprayed a bit of lacquer it just ran. Looks like I unloaded the can on it but I swear it was a quick light mist. ( I even said that to myself to as I begin so as to be sure it will be ok .lol.) it was a light sand with 320. I reckon this one will just have to be firewood.

Just let it dry nice and hard and block back that bit.

Is this just the solid colour or clear that has run?

The clear. But I think it has picked up some of the colour too. I reckon I would have to sand back and spray colour again which I don’t have anymore of. And patience which I seem to have ran out of too. I think it has defeated me

Now I can't remember who to give the initial credit for the suggestion, but one of these has come in handy for getting greater control of the spray paint can.

    From the big green shed.

BTW I start spraying past the guitar and keep the can moving past it in both directions.

    cheers, Mark.
