    Hello guys!

    Hi guys,
I'm from NewZealand(in Australia now visiting family).
And I just bought an ES-1Q Kit and looking forward to take it back to NZ and finish it..!
I also bought some dingotone kits so hopefully I can take them with me on flight.

This is my 2nd guitar kit building, I have a bad memory with a cheap strat kit long time ago which was totally un-playable at the end. So I am hoping that this one will be playable and look great too.
I'm a music teacher and been in South Asia for a year and now back home and will be enjoying my winter holiday with this kit building. I am planning to ask quite a bit of questions so please feel free to help me this newbie.

    Cheers

    Daniel

Chur Bro! Have a great time while you are here on the West Island. I think you might struggle getting DT in the plane, even in your checked luggage, from memory it can’t be transported by air, so check with the authorities first eh?

    Welcome Daniel.

I am also currently building an ES-1 and they are a nice kit. Timber on the back of mine has a very stringy grain that easily swelled from using water based stain and the front horn lumps are easy to sand through if not paying attention. Best not to do much sanding on the quilted top as the veneers seem to be thinner than a piece of paper. If using a stain best to have a really good look around all edges where binding is attached as there is usually some glue spots that need some attention or removal to allow any colour to penetrate.

    Cheers, Waz
