Most of us probably have built at least one Tele (2 for me) and they are pretty easy to assemble. Only trap to look out for is scale length for the bridge and whether the bridge PUP rout needs to be enlarged, particularly forward towards end of neck heel. Don't fall into the trap of thinking everything needs to sit flush at the rear end of scratch plate and most often there will be a sizeable gap.

Have to agree that Tele's are a bit more versatile than LP's and if you do the 4 way switch mod with a position wired in series it gives an almost humbucker sound at that setting.

Hope you score some decent grain as Ash can look spectacular with the right stain.
