Not a huge fan of Green guitars and wanted to see if I could save the top by sanding off the stain.

Back has some nice grain as does the sides. Thanks for tip Tony about the stringy nature of this timber as it definitely will need some grain filling.

Hmmm, 5 hours later and still not quite there. Yes, I confess to sanding through the flame maple veneer, if you could call it that. I swear the veneer seemed thinner than a waterslide decal and the level of glue used looks thicker than the timber.

The timber revealed underneath looks like some sort of ply and is quite light compared to the back but has similar grain patterns, just in the vertical plane whereas back is in a horizontal plane.

Hoping it may take a stain, if not it may just end up the solid colour combo that Tony has been sworn to keep secret.

Build # 7 and the missus is blowin' up already.....Let the fun begin.
