it has a resonator that will resonate regardless of any connection to an amp and a hollow body that will no doubt give is some acoustic properties

Have you checked the depth of the cutout for the cone?
Both FrankenWashie and I have (been forced) cut the bottom out of the main body timber exposing a cavity between said timber and the ply back. This increase in volume should help acoustically.
