Thats pretty interesting. Might be tricky to work with given the shape of the headstock, but this is certainly food for thought.

I definitely considered carving it. Part of the aesthetic is the mechanical features and metalwork though.
This is turning out to be a lot more work conceptually than I had bargained for.
You may also have noticed that this design will interfere with the bridge. I really like this idea:
So I just need to come up with a two post bridge design I can manufacture. I think it's fairly achievable.
