    ozo's first build

    Hi everyone. Got my first kit that I have started , so I thought I might break the ice by showing a few pics. Not actually my first build as such though. I purchased a 2nd hand guitar some months ago and stripped it, replaced most of the components, got it painted and reassembled it. Cheers.Click image for larger version.

    Nice grain showing through. What colour is the stain, looks to have a purple tinge to it, nice.

    Yeah Nitro it does have a purple look too. I used Rit black clothing dye.

    Hi Ozo, looking good. Looks like you have oversanded some of the dye so you will lose a bit of the lovely flame. Looks like you used an orbital sander. If you have the patience I would rub more black dye over to pop more of the flame, then carefully sand back with a sanding block, then apply your stain colour.
    You can see the areas around the F holes and some patches are back to bare timber
