This is Lilou, named for my eldest Lillian.
I've actually been really enjoying this one so much I'm feeling guilty for neglecting the TL-1 even though I'm doing them together.
I've secretly always wanted a SG since I played with one in a shop with one of my band mates when I was a uni student and had no hope of affording it. I've never come across a guitar with such a smooth action since and regret not spending every last cent I had to buy at the time.
As you can see, I've been a bit slack with the pick guard, I found a full guard in pearlesent white but it was for a Gibson rather than Epihone so it was too short. Rather than try to cut my own from a blank, I've cut it in half. It probably looks a bit sacrilegious to the hard core Gibson fans, but I'm building it to be played, not sold.
I've ordered Gotoh machine heads and a Babicz bridge, as I've been battling with the concept of this ending out being a bit of a silk purse out of a sow's ear seeing as it's my first build. I figure if it's not so brilliant finished, I can always swap them onto my Maton.
The pickups are Tonerider AC4s in gold.
Oh, gluing the neck on was very stressful, how I wish I'd gone for a bolt on kit, but thankfully it seems straight for now.
