The neck looks like it's joining the body on the low E side at the 17th rather the the 16th fret as on the LP. Have you got plans to reshape the neck heel so that it's not square where it sticks out beyond the body?
Are you planning to screw the neck on (as it looks to be a bolt-on neck type) or glue it on? If screwing I'd be slightly wary of using a standard rear metal neck plate as the shorter neck/body contact area would probably put the rear screws very near the end of the neck. I'd be more tempted to use individual dished sockets.
