Few update shots. Still have a fair bit to do:

    • Install new IronGear pickups (Dirty Torque - bridge, Blues Engine - neck)
    • Fit and install new Tusq nut
    • Install new frets - Dunlop 6100 Fretwire
    • Add custom headstock decals (like in the original concept art, plus PitBull decal on the back of the headstock)
    • Touch up finish and make it more consistent on both front and back

About another few weeks I reckon before I can say that I'm almost done!

Yeah cheers. Looking forward to the challenge of the frets. Could make or break my build! I hope I don't stuff it up

Mate, after having done this a few times here's my advice for your first attempt:

    - get a set of StewMac or equivalent fret pulling pliers. They look like the old school end nip pliers, but the front face is ground flush when they close.
    - get or make a set of fret board protectors/ chip stoppers, to shield your fretboard
    Link here:http://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools...et_Puller.html
-put a little back bow on the neck before you attempt to pull the frets, it may help you free up the tangs and prevent chipping.
    - get some small needle files or specialised fret end files to dress the ends. With your bound fretboard you will need to notch the tang at each end of the fret once you get it cut to size to allow for the body of the fret to overhang the binding. If you don't want to outlay for the special tool to do this (it runs at about 60 odd bucks link here: http://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools...ng_Nipper.html) you'll need to use a small square or flat file to do this.

But I realise that you've probably already done this research...

FW - done heaps of research mate. Cheers for the advice though. I realise that the time will come for me to implement my research so I appreciate every little bit of info that comes my way. I just went to eBay and found what tools I could from there. Let's hope the quality is good! If all else fails I will give your suggestions a crack

I'd figured mate, but it never hurts to make the suggestions just in case. The number of times I've read something here that's saved me from a booboo is too large to count.
Document it if you can as there's probably a few people would be interested in the process and how you've worked through it.
