Hi RDB, I presume the 'M' means Maple fret board therefore easier to look after than a fretless rosewood one as it is a much harder and denser timber.

As Woks mentioned you could do the CA glue coating which is rather fidly, traditional Fender style lacquer all over, or maybe even DT Wax or lemon oil. Having done the super glue on rosewood job it is one job I will never do again. So hard to get right and the toxic fumes almost made me pass out. I reckon DT Wax might be best as the board may show signs of wear on a highly polished lacquered surface, no matter what type of strings are used.
