Hi Ponch, I feel your pain as a similar thing happened on the Swampy Tele a few weeks ago. At least your oops will be hidden under paint. Mine is going through the TO refinishing stage after carefully sanding out as much of the dings as I could. Tends to dampen your enthusiasm for a while and hope it doesn't cause you too much heartache getting it back up to where it was at before the fall.

Allthough it sometimes feels different at the other end I completely agree with you; it is all about learning, enjoying the build and being proud of what you have accomplished.
