It was all done by mistake really. I used the DT stain and used too much and it turned out quite orange - much more than I wanted. The final coat also took much longer to dry than I wanted and I think I applied way too much in a short period of time. So, I sanded it back, covered it with several coats of Tru-Oil and that was the result. I'd do it differently next time of coarse, but it looks okay and quite unique.
I've put a few applications of a woodworking creme into the fretboard, but it still looks kinda dry. I'll get the luthier to rub some decent guitar oil into it when it gets set-up.
The MM build is well underway, but I have had trouble with the staining process on the body. The neck is looking good as you can see. (I just took that picture minutes ago.) I'll continue posting updates on that one over the next few days in the build thread. The thread is there maybe on the 2nd or 3rd page.
