Dead easy. I used some ink jet transfer paper. I finished the headstock up until the final clear coats.
I made the design to scale using Microsoft Publisher then printed onto the paper. Cut out the rough shape, two coats of clear lacquer to seal in the ink, then let it dry. Cut the final shape, wet the headstock slightly, soak the transfer, slide it onto the headstock, align and smooth out any bubble etc. Let it dry the applied the final coats of lacquer it the headstock. Easy peasy.
I cut the final shape to cover the whole of the white area to help disguise the transfer paper. With the clear coats over the top, you can hardly notice it.
