I think it is great but it would be better if you could bring back the red in the top. When you took this picture, was the top still wet or was it dry? When still wet I think it will look different when it has completely dried.

I think you will see a somewhat 'matted' top. Hopefully you can then bring up the color some more.

Now that I have finished sanding the back and sides, I am having serious second thoughts about dying it black. It looks nice with the bare basswood. Hmm.

I used Goof Off and no worries.
This is my second kit and this kit seem far better in quality and workmanship especially in regards to the neck compared to my first one. I used the Goof Off as a preventative more than anything else. So far so good - no lines.
