Made in concrete/cement. I imagine this is one heavy guitar to play. Must of been fun tightening neck bolts. You'd of also thought he would if at least laid some wood on top as it cured to give a nice wood grain finish lol. Heaps of sustain.

Actually no, I had to take a week off uni last week cause I wasn't feeling too well and needed time to recover, haven't missed much according to my lecturer who emailed me, I'll be back at uni tomorrow mate, also I haven't really done much guitar building stuff due to Darwin's wet weather, we recently had a cyclone not far from us, so our wet season has been a long one, I'm so looking forward to the day when I finally get the Gold Strat finished cause I really want to get back into playing it, according to my uni timetable we have no classes on Friday, so, I'm going to use that opportunity to see if I can get a couple more cans of Gold Paint from my local Bunnings store on Bagot Road, I need to go there anyway to pick up a new battery for my Laptop from Battery World across the road, the original battery isn't charging like it's supposed to.
How are your guitar builds going?
I've always wondered what the result you'd get if you tried building a Strat style guitar with a body made from a piece of Australian Ironwood, assuming you had some machine tools hard enough to do the body shaping, I'd imagine that the tone would be bright, with a good amount of sustain due to the hardness of the Ironwood, I've seen a pic of a Strat body made from sheet Aluminium on the internet somewhere.

hey Doc here's the jazz bass build diary from the start. There's a short demo on page 9 but it was rushed and the bass isn't 100% set up yet but you get the idea. Final pics are on page 7
