    wow that's a good price for a genuine Gibbo SG Stan ! so did Pabs give you a link to a website to check if the serial number matches ?

    Yeah was able to talk him down as guitar was modified from original...
    I have a great rapport with Pabs and traded several messages with him prior to going to see it, he schooled me up well. I also did some interweb search and took a page of notes and measurements with me.
    Seller let me remove the control plate and truss rod cover, final price was $650

    Serial number is too easy to fake these days. You've got to know it's genuine before the s/n means anything. Identifying counterfeits isn't too hard if you know what to look for, but a low price is always a little suspect. Stan did very, very well on this deal, that case is worth around $200 by itself.
