CA18DET making 500rwhp at 35 lbs of boost, will make over 600 at 50 lbs, a lot of grunt from 1.8L

He's got it apart and not only is the TC stuffed the input housing of the gearbag is busted as well, so repairs will be very expensive with a new stronger box required.

I've always been afeared that in the act of chasing horsepower, I might actually catch more horsepower than I know what to do with. Hope your lad's rebuild isn't too fiscally savage.

I don't think he will get any change from $10K which is what his current gearbox cost to have built, it's full of titanium and supposedly good for at least 700Kw it's been broken once but this time it's full of metal shavings from the destroyed torque converter, they do share the same oil
