    Arrrrrrgh!!!!
Got it all together but it has a hum!
    Oh man.
Do I have to take it all apart and re solder?
Or is there an easier way to find the fault??

    Thanks guys.

First things first, hum is usually a grounding issue, did you remember the bridge ground? Does it stop when you touch the strings/metal components?

Hey Olisam coming right up, good choice there, I will make sure its good quality aged single malt scotch and the best IPA I have !

Also check you got the hot and earth wire correct on the jack lugs. Its the most common cause of hum, and not earthing to the bridge

    Following on from Pabs,
    - is the hum constant?
    - does it happen in all switch positions and pot settings?
    - have you checked it isn't a lead/amp issue?
    - does it stop when touch anything or change a setting?

Typical causes of constant hum are a bad/missing ground connection, the connections to the jack reversed, or sometimes a stray wire strand/pot lug brushing the cavity shielding.

If you can't find the fault take some close-up photos of all the wiring (pots, jack, switch, as clear as possible) and we may be able to help spot the problem.
