    phroz STA-1M v2

Hi guys i had a bit of a accident with my Strat ash body and maple neck which was pearl white till i dropped it and took a hunk of paint out of the body, So i figured i would try a stain on it since i had to strip it back humm what a pain it turned out to be the ash body is so porous it ended up taking 6 coats of clear then sanding back i ended doing that 7 times before i got a nice solid clear finish. this is the last one i can do for a wile as im going in for a shoulder reconstrution which i would beable to put any strain on it for 5 months just 30 years of sanding has taken its toll on my right arm
well here it is hope you guys like it

this is just stained and the black edge no clear

    same but the back

here i have started to clear little did i know how many coat of clear and how many times i had to block it back

    same on the back

Looks great. Hate to say it but a tortoise shell guard (or black 3 ply) would look fab.

My next one will be a hollow body been busting to do one but will take me a bit before i recover from the shoulder operation because i am in a chair i got to go in to rehab for a couple of weeks before i can go home the buggers

I like mint-green pickguards. I think it looks fine like it is (and I have a general dislike for tortoiseshell and pearloid pickguards - but it would be boring if we all liked the same things). I'm planning to re-do a fotoflame Jap Strat that has a really badly dented and cracked body finish (was like that when I bought it) in daphne blue with a mint-green pickguard.
