Sounds familiar. I have the Tele kit, am building the explorer as we speak. Never been a fan of the SG, though I am doing an LP kit at the minute. SUCH FUN! and much sanding.

I'm yet to experience the sanding. I'm sure I'll know all about it soon.

Got a call from my wife saying that the kit has been delivered. Looks like Aus post trough it over the fence even though there is 'fragile' all over the box. Hope it's all ok. I'll check it out when I get home.

That sounds a bit nerve-wracking, but I reckon it'll be OK. They're packed pretty well. When my LP arrived I was sure it'd be stuffed - the box looked like something heavy with a ridge on it had pressed hard into it straight down the middle, each corner was dented in, and there were large divots in the cardboard. But when I opened it up, the axe itself was totally undamaged.

I keep seeing all these nightmare stories about length of delivery and damage on arrival, I am waiting for one of my deliveries to go utterly pear shaped and smeared in brown. It's got to be getting close to my turn?!

I hope it's all okay when you examine it mate, if there are any issues at all get straight on to Adam so he can put a rocket up Aust post.

Sounds like you've got a good local parcel contractor! Give him a beer this Christmas and beg him not to quit!

The last guy in this area was excellent before he retired, but the new guy's a lazy idiot - about a quarter of the time he either doesn't actually show up, doesn't leave a card, or delivers my parcels to the neighbour's place instead (or vice versa).

That said it's super rare that I get something that's actually damaged, and I'd rather run around and collect stuff than deal with broken items.

I should be thankful for small mercies I guess, where I live and where I work are pretty well serviced and are the kinds of areas that would insure that a crap delivery contractor won't be around long.
