First person I have seen on this forum to seal a rosewood fret board. Not a complete sin as Ric do it on all of their guitars. Just not the traditional approach and hope it works out well for you.

He uses a 2 pak polyurathane but im only gonna use 1 or 2 coats of the wipe on, i dont want a heavy build up, just a few coats for colour. Cos its so thin it should soak in fairly well and cos it doesnt have a build up, it shouldnt come off, heres hoping.

It will be interesting to see how the finish holds up on the fret board under playing conditions. Not sure how many coats are on traditional maple boards yet they seem to take lots of punishment before looking aged or relic.

Yes im interested too although ive only put 2 thin coats on and wipe on poly is poly thinned with about 30% mineral spirits so the film its getting is very thin.
BTW thanks for your input Waz.

Afterthought....seeing as im only an occasional player it'll never get the beating that most of you guys would give it...lol

Double filled all the veneer cracks with the black timbermate and gave it a good sand, came up well.
Gave the neck only 2 thin coats of wipe on poly, a light sand with 1,000 grit and one more thin coat. It looks good, matt finish but it has highlighted the grain without a heavy buildup of poly.

Gave the veneer a coat of wipe on ploly

needs some work to fit but should be ok, its a bit thin but the custom truss rod cover should butt up to it.
