I can't say that I'm particularly keen on them myself. They made a lot of fuss about 'motorcycle heritage' when they first came out, which was just marketing BS. They just seem like a poor man's (Yamaha) SG to me, though some of them are quite expensive. I did have an SG3000 back in the '80s, which got stolen from my car, so maybe that's spoiled me with regards to the looks of these.
Being Yamaha, they will be made very well and play well, and they do look nicer in the flesh than in photos, but I do wish Yamaha would bring out a decent but cheap version of their SG. The current SG-based models are hard to find and very expensive, but I'm sure they could do a Chinese/Korean/Indonesian version that would be great and wouldn't break the bank.
