It's often one of the bridge volume (or tone) lugs touching the copper shielding and thus grounding your signal when it's selective problem like this. Sometimes even a stray wire strand or solder blob can do it.

Just check that none of the pot lugs are brushing the shielding and/or the underside of the lug board isn't being squeezed down onto the copper (you can use some electrical tape to insulate the underside of the lugs if needed).

Awesome, I was hoping it might be a simple solution.
I reckon I have jammed one of the lugs down when I tightened up the controls to the body.

Perfect suggestion Weirdy!
Two of the tone pot lugs were touching the cavity wall. I bent them back a touch, and both pickups are working again!!

I got to finish the neck first!!
I've given the head stock about 3 light coats of clear gloss acrylic, so I just need that to cure a bit before I can finish polishing the neck up and fitting it to the guitar.
On the home stretch now!

Good progress being made and the finish line is now in sight.

On some of my builds I have had to put some rubber or nylon washers between the pots and the body as from on top the knobs were riding too high and this also doubled up as another layer of insulation to prevent things shorting as you found with a lug resting on the shielding.

I've ripped off the rubber washer off a plastic tap washer and drilled a hole in it for the pot shaft and used that before....think they're still in my strat.

It's finished! The last couple of jobs have come together so quickly, it's hard to believe it!

It only has the Chinese strings on it at the moment. I've give it a couple of nights of tension before playing any further with it, but I have sound, but a really crappy amp. I'll take it around to a friends place who has some killer gear, and let him play it for you all.
The only issues I have at this stage is the neck must have slipped slightly when I drilled the holes as the bass E string is closer to the edge than I would have liked, and there is some extra room for the Treble E string. I am only talking a millimeter or so, but it's noticeable to my eye.

Apart from that, thank you so much to everyone for all your assistance, and encouragement. I have had a blast sharing every step with you guys, and I'm so proud to be a part of this community Family.
