I take it that comparison doesn't include instant? I think you and I have already ascertained that it's not REALLY coffee, so doesn't count.

Very ordinary... thats why Starbucks failed miserably here.

$50.00 a cup?, that's outrageous, that's way more than what I'd be willing to spend on a cup of coffee, the packs of coffee grinds that I buy usually end up costing me just under Au$12.00, considering that each contains about 200g of coffee grinds, that's usually enough to make quite a few cups of coffee.

Just saw this one - I'm usually a tea drinker, but have in the past gone down the self roasting path - a mate built a coffee roaster using a breadmaker and heat gun that works pretty well - a great way to pass an evening with the odd brown ale. I'll see if I can drag it out of the shed tomorrow and get a photo or two...

I can't believe that we're up to four pages on the subject of coffee, must be a lot of builds drying!

yeah sure must be some coffee addicts Frankie and DB, To me as long as its not instant and got some flavour I'm fine with it.
When it comes to beer then there is a whole new level of snobbery (if that is a word !) haha

    Righto.

First up, lets get this out of the way, instant coffee isn't coffee.

The stuff in it might have once been coffee, or it might once have been in the same chemical plant as some coffee, but it is not coffee.

So the question posed was "Interested to see what others reckon is their favourite coffee?".

    Well I don't reckon, I know.

I even used to import the stuff at great expense, until they got an Australian distributor, who sells it to me (at great expense).

It is the Dark Roast from Tanna Coffee in Vanuatu.

It even suffices out of a plunger...
