DB suggested to use Bloodwood which I have ordered. Question: the kit has a maple fretboard, do I put the bloodwood and the neck finish topcoat on the fretboard?

Probably best to leave the fretboard unfinished and just do the back of the neck, if you want you could try putting Dingowax on the fretboard.
