Hey Andy, I hope so. Going for the City Limits Tonreriders. Don't want to put the order through just yet until I found out about the reverse headstock situation with the maple fretboard, I could just go for the rosewood but that would be a compromise of my plans

Hi Dan/Sovietfox, welcome to the GAS team.

Don't think you will need the Neck Glue as most ST kits are bolt-on's and definitely the way to go as a 1st build. In fact the simplest build of all is TL-1 as it doesn't have a tremolo to worry about and control plate comes pre-wired.

You could always ask for a special order with a lefty neck to give you the reverse headstock in either maple or rosewood.

    Hey Dan,

Brilliant thing about advice is you either take it or leave it..Personally I am a big believer in respecting other peoples point of views, the whole 'Facebook' Lets have a social media argument on who is 'more right' is BS..

As I always say 'Opinions are like Ar#e Holes, every ones got one'......

Regards the build you can always strip back the finish to improve it, but you cant rebuild Chinese pick ups and tuners to improve them.
So go for it Brother....Start what you mean to finish...You'll be happier in the long run..

    thanks guys,
just wondering the difference between the Babicz kits. the one with 6 holes on the front and the one with only 2 both say they are for use with Strats. What's the difference between?

Welcome Dan looks like you have a tasty build lined up! For the strat style bridge they come in two flavours. 6 hole is vintage style and the 2 hole is modern style. 6 hole is connected with screws into the body where as the two hole requires bridge posts for the screws. Not sure if much difference in tone but I understand modern style may benefit from enhanced tuning stability

Dan, just looking at your order list. Not sure if you have wire at home for electronics upgrade but some vintage cloth wire would be worth aquiring. Its a dream to use (just pull back cloth insulation to expose core)

Hi sovietfox, firstly I'd like to welcome you to the forum, you're going to love it here, I was a newbie to making guitars too and since I joined this forum I have learned lots, the other forum members have all been very helpful so feel free to ask any of us for advice any time, I'm in the process of building an STA-1M PBG Strat kit, but I'm currently working on giving the body a new solid gold-paint finish, feel free to check out my build diary thread, I'll post a link to it here for you:

I'm also working on building a custom HotRod Strat which will feature a Schaller Lockmeister Floyd Rose double-locking trem system, here's a link to that thread if you're interested in checking it out too:
