Also popped my straplocks on too, and chose my strap. Unfortunately I don't have a B/W Checkered strap, and I think that'll have to be on the list of things to get.

Not completed yet. Pots still haven't arrived, and I will need to shim the neck because the action is super high even with the bridge set all the way down
I also noticed that the pickup is cut such that the neck pickup ends up off-centre, but that will be something to fix when I cut the replacement pickguard down the track
I might end up shimming the neck tonight, but might not because I'm exhausted. But I'm really happy with how it looks, barring the wonky neck pickup.
Oh and for all the guys wondering about the trem, I gave it a quick go, it felt pretty smooth and nice, and in terms of tuning it seemed to handle a little bit of a whapping fine. But I only had one string on it and didn't have a tuner or anything to see if/how far out it fell. But early tests look pretty good!!

I did need to angle it. I'm gonna get some proper StewMac angled shims down the track, buuuut money...
Also, the pots arrived on friday, and I've been slowly picking away at the electronics over the last couple of nights and got it finished up tonight. Plugged it in, gave it a bit of a test and it loooks like I got sent a dodgy volume pot, the output will just cut out if the volume knob gets bumped a but. It might be a dodgy solder somewhere along the way, but from the way it was acting I suspect that it was the pot (also I am actually reasonably confident in my soldering job this time). I'll pull the pickguard off tomorrow night and investigate a little further.

In terms of the shimming, on one of the threads DB talks about using CA soaked copy paper to build up angled shim, can't remember which one though. The StewMac full pocket shims look good but I've found you can't just buy one thing from StewMac, you always end up grabbing something else and before you know it you've a cartful costing you a bomb!

What I'm hoping to do is get them in with another order when my guitar making teacher happens to make one with them. He has to get stuff from there reasonably often (and I know I'll need stuff for my 7-string build anyway) so it should be no problem to dodge a good chunk of the shipping.

Well now everything took longer than expected (shipping times + no money for some of the extra bits that I needed) but I've finally got this thing all together and totally functional!!
As you can see, old white pickguard is gone and a pearl one has taken its place. Had to cut it from a sheet but that ended up being a surprisingly quick job.
Also I popped pickup rings on top of the pickguard. The reason for that (as pointless as it usually would be) is that my neck pickup was not getting held up anywhere near high enough. The pickup springs were all compressed all the way down before, so I just couldn't raise the pickup any higher. The rings are not bolted down in any way right now, I'm giving them a test run as they are, if they end up wobbly I'll probably just pop a bit of super glue in between to keep them down, but early in it looks like it should be ok.
Finally, I dropped all the silly switching and just went super simple. 1V, 1T and 3-way. Also because I was making my own pickguard it's much less cluttered now, which I really appreciate.
Haven't had toooo much of a chance to test the pickups out much because the AC adapter for my POD has died, and my amp also seems to be broken. But I checked it out briefly in Rocksmith and they seemed to handle distortion fairly nicely, didn't get much clean testing in though (but having heard samples online, I have no worries at all about the cleans). I was amused that Rocksmith, when doing calibrations, said something like "Please make sure your volume is all the way up" even though I was already turned all the way up because the pickups are pretty low output.
