    Update:

Went back to my local Big Green Shed and bought a few more spray-painting products as well as some wood screws, a 6mm Long Shank drill bit, and a screwdriver set, anyway, I reckon I finally found the right Metallic Blue colour for the Hotrod Strat, it almost matches the colour on the body of the Strat in the pic I posted, here's a pic of it:

    Update:

The original holes for the mounting screws on the neck that I'm using in this build were in the wrong place, so I drilled all four of them out to 6mm using a 6mm drill bit, carefully marking the depth with some 3M Masking Tape, next I cut four short plugs from a piece of 6mm Oak Doweling, put some PVA glue on them before hammering them in with a small claw hammer, next I used a Stanley-blade Knife to carefully trim the Oak Plugs flush with the neck, the neck is now ready to have the mounting-screw holes re-drilled in the correct place for a good fit in the neck-pocket of the HotRod Strat body, definitely making some progress on this build, here's a pic of the neck heel with the holes plugged-up:

Not really, I tried looking through the range of Dulux paints they had in the Big Green Shed, but couldn't find any, do you reckon the Rust-Oleum 2X Flat Grey Primer will work?, cause that's the only other primer I have, I do have a can of White Knight White Undercoat, but not sure if it'll work, both the Primer and Undercoat are suitable for use on wood.

This is what the Rust-Oleum Primer looks like:

I guess I'm going to have to do a compatibility test on a scrap bit of wood to see if the primer will work okay with the Metallic Blue paint, I really want to use that Metallic Blue colour, cause it looks the closest to Lake Placid Blue to my eyes, bearing in mind that I'm actually Red-Green Deficient Colour-blind.

I could try asking him if he has used it and see what his experience was.

    Update:

Seeing as I was on a bit of a roll today, I thought I would go ahead and drill the new mounting-screw holes in the Rosewood 22-fret Mighty Mite neck I'm using for my HotRod Strat build, here's a pic so you can see what it looks like with the neck attached to the body, I think it's looking pretty cool so far, will look cooler once the body has been finished:

    Update:

I'm considering starting the finishing-work on the HotRod Strat body this coming Monday while I wait for the Gold Strat body to finish drying after I apply some more coats of Gold Paint, so I'm guessing that the first thing I need to do is give the body a sanding-down, then maybe apply some of the Maple Timbermate to the body prior to spraying it with some primer, or, can I just spray the body with primer without Timbermating it?, I can't see any obvious grain patterns, and I'm going for a solid Metallic Blue finish, so maybe it might not make any difference.
