Thread: The Blue Max

    The Blue Max

This is a REHASH of my very first PB build - is that sorta cheating?

Small bodied Tele was originally finished in satin black.
Stripped her down and repainted with clear blue cyan over a silver base, then finished with urethane.
While I was at it, I fitted a modded Strat bridge solidly to the body to get better set/intonation adjustment.
Made a string through arrangement using a recessed door handle (sacrilege!) on the back of the body.
Added a couple of Blue Max decals (shaped like the selector plate).

Now I have my Main Blues axe . . . and some learning to play to do . . .

P.S. Now it's time to check out all the cool stuff that's gone down on this awesome forum while I've been away!

Between you and Simon I am constantly amazed at what gets turned out. That right there is stunning. Love that Blue!! No temptation for a little Snoopy figure in flying goggles?

cool build Max love the mods you have done. Presume you chopped a tele bridge plate and left the part that holds the pickup. super cool idea the door handle string through. It's never cheating to re-do an old build. Love the blue. How does it sound and what pickups you got ?
Would be nice to see a full pic of the axe

    Hi Wokks

Yes, you presumed right about the chopped plate!
And the sound is amazingly good - to my ear at least.
PU's are the kit ones, didn't feel the need to upgrade.
    Full pic herewith dude . . .

Max. Looks very nice. Love the double strap pins so it sits on it's bum. How is that axe supported looks like it's on a wall?
