I'll have a look at what I have, most are $ collectable type ones or ones with numbers that mean something to me but I probably have some strays

no worries Dedman, don't stress too much I've found pages and pages of US plates on Ebay from an Australian seller for around $12-14 including postage

they are a bit like guitars...hard to stop at one, especially when they have crazy state slogans like "Live Free or Die" from New Hampshire or the Alaskan NW territories ones shaped like a polar bear.
