Did the Graph Tech XL Tusq for real Gibsons fit perfectly on your Chibson or will I need to buy a different size nut?
...and any other advice you can give me would surely be appreciated!
    Thank you, Ian
Not to play devils advocate Ian.......but why not build a pit bull guitar LP yourself? all metric sized holes etc can be plugged and you can drill your own holes in imperial measurements (USA).

You can do it Ian...I believe in you.

    What do you reckon Doc?

Honestly, having been a bit underwhelmed by the build quality of my Chibson SG, I would have to agree with you on that mate, I'm seriously thinking of adding a PBG SG Kit to my list of guitar kits to buy, might buy one after I buy that 51 Tele kit that I want to buy.

Note: I'm not trying to promote these PBG kits, but after buying a PBG Strat kit, and getting Adam to order-in a custom strat body for me, I reckon the overall quality of the PBG kits are better, the centering of the body routes is done with better accuracy, although the final build quality is really determined by the builder of the kit, and how much work they put into it.

Also, the quality of the woods used in the kits are better too.

Keep the SGD-612 in mind too...I've been quite impressed with it so far.

You know what?, I may actually seriously consider adding one of those to my list of kits to buy too, but I really want to leave buying one till my kit building skills get better, they look cool too.

Since I'm into Black Sabbath, it would be cool to buy a right-handed SG kit and build it so it looks like one of the SGs Toni Iommi played early in his career.

And since I'm also a Megadeth fan, I'd love to build a fully working and playable 80's Jackson King V, complete with a Kahler Trem installed and the Jackson headstock, like the one Dave Mustaine used to play before he switched to Dean guitars later on in his career.

On the other hand, I have a white Indonesian-made Ibanez RG350DXZ guitar and I think that the overall build quality of it is far superior to my Chibson SG, but then again it's a Japanese designed guitar.

I think with your wiring skillz mate, you'll have it nailed.

The body is just slightly bigger and the necks are bolt on so there's not a lot of room for stuff ups. I did have to move the jack hole as there is a design flaw but by far the hardest is the wiring.

The only thing that scares me is that the necks with the 18 tuners on it far outweigh the light basswood body!!! I think its going to have to be a sit down paying guitar, unless I can find some lighter tuners.

Cheers for that mate, when I get around to buying one of those double-neck SG kits, and get to the stage where I do the wiring-up, I might do some kind of tutorial, or something to make things easier for others who are building, or considering building one.

I guess once I build one of those double-neck SGs, I'll have to start putting some serious effort into learning some good Jimmy Page licks, maybe even sit down and learn how to play Stairway To Heaven too.

Guess I'll have to add building a Marshall Superlead Plexi to my list of amp build projects then, but if I do I might do my own take on it rather than build an exact replica.

Ianpoet ,I would never send parts to China for them to fit, just NO, don't do it. I've never dealt with the companies in question but you have absolutely no way of getting justice if they just decide to keep your parts and send you a off the shelf guitar or nothing at all. It's an awful lot of trust to have in someone who knows you have no recourse if they rip you off. Order a kit and have DB fit your parts if you don't feel confident in building (it's not that hard)
