    Its coming along nicely Craig.

I used a veneer on my MMB-4 headstock and I defy any normal person to notice it. By the time you get some clear finish on, it will look like a bought one.

And I see you're going active, should make it sound even more awesome.

Since my preamp showed up on friday, I realised it wasn't all going to fit in the control cavity as it was. Couldn't make the outline of the cavity any larger with out going outside the boundary of the cover, so some of the internal structure had to come out. Chisel time!

Not the prettiest solution, but it all fits now, so..... whatevs. A quick touch up to the sanding and back on track.

The search for the right shades of colour took quite a few attempts, better to spend time prepping than being unhappy with the result and having to sand it all off and try again. Got there in the end, super happy with the colours and the mix.

Started on the back, and went a tad heavy handed on the outer layer.

Not bad, just a touch more than I was after considering the real estate of the pickguard on the front. Tonight I will sand it back slightly and re-stain to try and even it up.

The front, on the other hand, I probably went a touch light. Still, much happier with this outcome.

A little touch up to the back and then I really need to decide what I'm going to do for a clear coat.
