a quick update. I've relic-ed the trem , basically sanded most of the black off then dropped in some hot salty water for a bit. The alloy bits I hit with a bit of brown paint. Weird thing is the body of the trem was just steel with paint over it (possibly powder coat but I don't think so, interesting spelling of Rose too :P ), but the trem arm had chrome under it, REAL chrome with copper under it!)
I've made the control knobs from vintage Winchester shotgun shells I think a 9mm will fit the switch knob
Did some more ageing on the body, gouged a few cracks into it and some more layers of wash.
Waiting for humbucker rings to arrive, age them, and construction can almost start
the dark shiny patch is still wet from more grime layering
