Definitely check the break angle of the strings over the floating bridge to under the tension bar, as the close fit could be an issue with the bridge height.

Wait, what? I thought it was measure once, measure twice, agonise, re-measure, stop for calming cup of tea. Start again, measure once, measure twice, start cut/fill, panic, pause, carefully remeasure mid cut/fill, panic some more, check listed "Standard" values for workpiece, consult DB and forum panel of experts, change saw/filler compound, get the irrits with it and slap it all together eyes closed and praying for a favourable result like a flatmate betting the rent money on a speccy at Randwick. Or is that just me?

Ok so filled with some dowel and sanded back, thankfully the finish was already thick enough to take a fair bit of sanding.

So after filling the post holes sanding, re painting, re sanding, re scraping, re sanding... sanding.... sanding, the finish is ready for a clear coat.

Wondering if is should drill my pilot holes for the hardware and set the neck. Any advice??

hey Matty that's looking pretty damned sexy with the mock up !

    paint looking good

I'd do your pilot holes now and set the neck and clear coat the lot if you can work with the neck in place

Finally finished this beast after a long year of short bursts working on this. Really happy with how it came out, i learnt a lot along the way.
