71 Pages Doc haha, oh there was a guitar in this thread somewhere?

Give it as long as you can withstand for the curing. Longer the better, my current surf strat will be hanging around for a while yet before any attempt made at assembly. I've rushed this in the past and have had components fuse to the finish (scratch plate comes to mind) a bit disastrous when it comes to peeling it off for whatever reason...

Hey Doc, are you out there or do we need to send a search party to find you as there has not been a post to this thread for more than 3 days???
For a few pages there I thought we were already involved in some sort of therapy quite distantly removed from said guitar being built cause god knows some of us may need it once it has been done haha.
Haha....thanks for the heads-up Wazkelly, nah I haven't gone and gotten myself lost again, well I hope not anyway, I haven't posted anything for three days cause I was waiting for the finish on the Strat body to dry, I think the humidity up here in Darwin is slowing down the drying time quite a bit and because of that I underestimated things a bit, it might be dry enough to do another full mock build tomorrow, if so I might build the guitar up to the point where it's playable so I can do some pics and record a demo clip so you guys can hear what it sounds like, I can always then carefully dis-assemble it to apply a couple more final coats to the body.

Update:
Today I'm going to be going to my local Jaycar Electronics Store to buy some electronic parts to build an Axis Fuzz pedal, when I get back home I'm going to do a full build and setup of my Strat so that I can record a demo clip for you guys, the last final coat I applied to the body of the guitar is dry enough to allow me to go ahead with the full build, I didn't necessarily build this guitar kit just so I would have something to enter into the GOTM competition, so the quality of the finish doesn't really matter much, I mostly bought this kit so I could have a spare guitar to play if my other guitars went faulty or needed maintenance to get them back to a playable state, I can always dismantle the guitar to do more work on the finish at a later date anyway.
While I'm getting the electronic parts from Jaycar Electronics, I might also stop by the big green shed and buy some copper Snail tape and a few sheets of 800 and 1200 grit sandpaper.
I have just ordered a couple of extra Fender-style Bone Nuts for my Strat plus a couple of Dingotone Sandpaper kits, I ordered the extra bone nuts because I want to have a couple spare just in case I make a mistake when filing the nut slots when adjusting the 1st fret action when doing the setup work on the guitar.
Stay tuned for more updates.

The Axis Fuzz is a vintage-style mid to late 60's Fuzz Distortion type of pedal, used by Jimi Hendrix on his Axis Bold As Love Album, the pedal was originally designed by Roger Mayer as a more stable substitute for the Fuzz Face, another Fuzz Pedal that Jimi Hendrix made famous, the Axis Fuzz, like the Fuzz Face, has only two settings on it Drive (which controls the amount of Fuzz Distortion), and Volume (which controls the loudness of the effect), so it's a very simple pedal to use.

cheers Doc, I was hoping the pedal was related to Hendrix - Axis Bold as Love album - it's a wee ripper
can't wait to hear the pedal once it's built Doc, if I like it I'll have a crack at building one
